The bionic jigsaw

A 300-piece jigsaw puzzle isn’t much of a challenge to us, but this Six Million Dollar Man puzzle was a great bit of nostalgia. Who can forget the opening sequences of this 1970s classic? (‘We have the technology. We can rebuild him!’) And what about all the clunky sound effects and slow-motion movements that were supposed to show how fast or strong Steve Austin, our bionic hero and master of the steely-eyed stare, really was?

Of course, when you adjust for the effects of inflation the Six Million Dollar Man would only be worth a couple o’ bucks these days. Still, it was cutting edge stuff at the time. About as cutting edge as a rubber band, most likely; lest we forget, the height of real-world technology at the time, apart from the SMDM, was the Cadbury’s Smash martians.

I rest my case.
